Mushroom Kingdom Map: Bubble Lake

Description

Located to the south of both Toad Town and Toad City, Bubble Lake (more like Bubble Inland Sea) almost borders to the mountain range separating Bowser's fiery Koopa Kingdom from the rest of the Mushroom Kingdom, only Dimble Wood lies in between. The Wood itself is rather uneventful, sporting at least a golf course close to the southern forest line.

Around the lake several settlements can be found, of both major and minor size: on the southern beach lies both the mysterious Tower of Yikk and lively Mushroom City, which also serves as the location for GCN Rainbow Road, Moonview Highway, and Mario Kart Stadium*. Madame Broque has also her residence on the same coast, albeit some way away from the bustling city.

Toad's Factory lies in close vicinity to Mushroom City, well protected by it's little bay. To the north of it, where the terrain grows more yellow hills, lies the first of the many Mario Circuits. The Wii version shares the same yellow hills in its surroundings, while the others do not and are thus placed further away. Mario Circuit 2 is surrounded with nothing but hills, while the Wii U version is situated on a river. The river runs from Bubble Lake to the ocean, passing by the other Mario Circuits. The DS course features a castle and a lake, possibly connected to the river, if it isn't just a moat, and it might the same castle that is visible from both the 1st and 4th Mario Circuit (I know those two share backdrop with Peach Circuit, but since I wanted to keep the Mario Circuits collected, this is how I'm doing it). The 3DS version also feature a lake (or moat) and a castle, but I concluded that the land was too dissimilar to be the same, and even if the Mushroom Kingdom might have the technology to terraform, my guess is that for the sake of simplicity, the tracks are two completely different ones. Mario Circuit 3 is just like the 2nd, surrounded by hills, so it is a bit off from the rest, as is the GBA version for similar reasons.

GCN's Mario Circuit on its coastal location is visible from Mushroom Bridge in Bubble Lake.

*The reason for this can be found on the Railway map of Super Bell Subway. The Red line goes to Mario Circuit (presumably the Wii U version) with next stop being Mario Kart Stadium. Now, Mario Kart Stadium is set in a large city, and from what I can tell the only buildings other than the ones of Mushroom City are the little houses in Mario Circuit Wii, and those doesn't seem to fit the bill here. Mushroom City makes more sense to house the Stadium, as it is already such a centerpiece for many of the Mario Kart courses. The SBS map is also responsible for why Bubble Lake is chosen as the water body around the GCN courses. With Bubble Lake being close to Bowser's kingdom, and the two final stops on the red line being Dragon Driftway and Electrodrome, both of which i believe to be located in the Koopa Kingdom, the lake only made sense to use.
